I work on Sat, but would like to attend on Fri night, or as I can get there after work. and after church on Sun. If in area near Birmingham.

I will be in the throes of wedding planning and events, but will attend according to any parties, etc I may have to get to. I vote for no further than Birmingham as it is pretty central in the state, and I can get back and forth if my daughter needs me for any thing.

Things are finally settling down for me here somewhat. Hopefully I'll be in a position to be able to attend.

Wind Creek sounds good and so does Cheaha or for that matter Tannyhill State Park which is much closer to Birmingham. Tannyhill has everything and is only about
20 miles from B'ham on I 65.

The Wind Creek Casino in Atmore has a hotel, conference rooms, 3 restaurants on site, coffee shop, and they also cater meetings...there are 2 other hotels and 2 more restaurants within a quarter of a mile...it's located right off I-65, but it is in the southern part of the state...within an hour of Mobile and Pensacola...

They have a lodge as well as primitive and or RV camping spots

Not sure if they have a hall for conferences but I wouldn't doubt it.

As of right now I'm the only one on the planning committee and would love help in putting this event on. I have my own ideas on where it "could" be but the location will depend on many factors - central location, budget, # of expected attendees, meeting space availability, hotel availability, cost, etc.

I went ahead and posted the event and date for planning purposes and to get the discussion going.

Shane, could you send me info on Mt. Cheaha? I'm not familiar with it.

I will be coming in from a conference in Long Island, NY. I may not be able to attend Friday, FYI. Great idea! I was thinking about having a "liberty summit" sometime, where we do this on Mt Cheaha, have workshops etc. Get it, "summit" AKA highest point in AL.
